Eminent Domain Public Forum

  • West Broadway Business & Area Coalition 1501 W Broadway #2B Minneapolis, MN 55411 USA (map)

Are you a North Minneapolis resident, business, or property owner within a 1-mile radius of the proposed Blue Line Light Rail Extension? Your home or business may be in jeopardy.

As the Blue Line project nears 60% design completion, the City will soon begin sending out notices, appraising properties, and making offers—many of which may be well below market value. If you’re not prepared, you could lose more than just square footage—you could lose your leverage, your investment, or your ability to stay rooted in the community.

The West Broadway Business and Area Coalition (WBC) is bringing in attorney Mark Savin, an expert in eminent domain law, for an urgent public forum to break down what’s coming and what you need to do now to protect yourself.

At this critical meeting, you’ll learn:

  • What eminent domain really means—and how the City uses it to take property

  • What to say (and what not to say) when appraisers come knocking

  • Why initial offers are often too low—and how to push back

  • Your rights as a business or residential property owner

  • What relocation support might be available—and how to get legal help

This isn’t just a presentation. It’s a warning—and a chance to prepare before decisions are made without your input.
